Homemade Glass Cleaner

Why is Windex blue? I wish it was a great answer along the lines of why the sky is blue...but it isn't. That beautiful, deep hue of blue is from Liquitint Sky Blue Dye, aka Synthetic Colors. While on the EWG report card, Windex gets an overall D, there are some ingredients in there that score an F (2-hexoxyethanol).

Get my drift? Without further ado, I present you:

HOMEMADE GLASS CLEANER

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup white vinegar (I use organic because non-organic is GMO)
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
2 cups water
1 tbsp arrowroot powder (or cornstarch)
10 drops essential oil of your choice (I like lemon or lavender)

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Done.
Note: the arrowroot powder or cornstarch will settle to the bottom, shake well before use. Also, rub surface you are cleaning until liquid is completely dry.

Now you can rest easy because your glass cleaner is rated "A". Get to cleaning...
