Hi, I’m Amber.
I’m a wife, mom to two awesome kids, health nerd, lifelong learner, and full-time human to a ridiculously lazy Rhodesian Ridgeback who still believes the couch is his throne.
I’ve been interested in health for a long time. But somewhere along the way, I started asking a different question:
What if our bodies aren’t broken—but communicating with us?
That question has changed the way I look at health.
Instead of asking, How do I get rid of this symptom? I’ve become much more interested in asking, Why is this happening? What is my body trying to tell me? And what does it need?
And honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever stop asking questions. I’ve always been someone who wants to know more—how things work, why they work, and what happens when we change one piece of the puzzle. The human body is endlessly fascinating to me, and the more I learn, the more I realize how much there is still to learn.
I’m constantly reading, researching, listening, experimenting, and looking for a better understanding of how the body works and how I can support it.
I don’t think health is about having perfect labs, following a perfect diet, or finding the perfect supplement stack. (I’ve tried enough things to know there really isn’t a perfect anything.)
I think it’s about building a body that is well-nourished, strong, resilient, and able to adapt—so we can live well for a really, really long time.
And a lot of that comes back to things that aren’t particularly complicated:
Real food. Nourishment. Movement. Rest. Connection. And living in a way that works with our bodies instead of constantly fighting against them.
I’m a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), Certified Holistic Health Coach, Certified Workplace Health Consultant through WELCOA, and board-certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I’ve also completed additional training in environmental toxins and functional lab testing.
Those tools have been incredibly valuable to me. But over the years, I’ve realized that no lab test, diagnosis, or protocol can tell the whole story.
I’m much more interested in the whole person—how we eat, move, sleep, think, connect, recover, and live.
Labs and data can give us clues. I love that part. But I don’t want to reduce a person to a number on a lab report.
And my faith is a big part of how I see all of this.
Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made.
I believe God designed our bodies with an incredible capacity for repair, adaptation, and restoration. I also believe He is the true Healer. That doesn’t mean we sit back and do nothing. It means we learn to pay attention, care for what we’ve been given, and work with the body rather than constantly trying to outsmart it.
That’s really where I am right now.
Still learning. Still researching. Still experimenting. Still changing my mind when I learn something new.
And that’s also what led me to ROOTED.
ROOTED is a framework I’m developing around the foundations I keep coming back to—real food, nourishment, movement, connection, and living in alignment with the way our bodies were designed.
It’s not another diet. It’s not a list of rules. And it’s definitely not about doing everything perfectly.
It’s a different way of thinking about health.
A way to step back from the constant noise and ask better questions.
Do I need another supplement—or do I need to eat a real meal?
Do I need to optimize one more thing—or do I need to sleep?
Do I need to chase another number—or do I need to pay attention to what my body has been telling me?
Sometimes the answer is more complicated.
But sometimes it’s surprisingly simple.
That’s what I want this space to be about.
You’ll find evidence-based health education, practical nutrition and lifestyle ideas, functional health insights, and plenty of me figuring things out along the way.
I don’t have everything figured out. I don’t think any of us do.
But I do believe we can keep learning, keep asking better questions, understand our bodies a little more, and make choices that support the kind of health we want for the long haul.
That’s what I’m pursuing.
And I’d love for you to come along.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
